Welcome Writers and Students!
While it's true that all a writer needs is a pen, paper, and imagination, there are tools available to optimize screenwriting.
I've compiled all the tools that have helped me as a writer and offer them to you to check out. We should use every resource when we try to conquer something, and since all these tools were of value to me, I thought they might be for other writers and students.
Inside the TV Writer's Room has suggested viewings and readings in every chapter, but they really are required. Serious writers cannot reach their zeniths if they have not read these books, or watched the finest episodes by the writers I interview in the book. I encourage you to make these items part of your curriculum, whether you are in a formal class, or on your own.
First, if you do not have a subscription to Netflix, I highly recommend starting on so you can have rental access to the TV episodes I suggest. Alternatively, if you want to have those episodes available for reference (as I do), you can also buy them through Amazon.
